This past weekend I gave a couple of presentations at a conference called HASTAC 2013 that was held in Toronto.  HASTAC is an organization that is made up of a lot of interesting folks from a variety of disciplines.  HASTAC stands for Humanities, Arts, Science, and  Technology Advanced Collaboratory.

One of the other speakers at the conference, Geoffrey Alan Rhodes, from the Art Institute of Chicago, gave an interesting presentation titled:

New Narratives: Augmented Reality Art, So What, Who Cares?

You can see the abstract for his talk and his bio by clicking on the title of his presentation above.

He made a lot of interesting points about AR in his talk.  One of the most interesting things to me was how he used AR in his presentation about AR.  In the picture above, you see how he is using fiducial markers on cards to play video clips of himself from prior presentations he has given.  It was an interesting juxtaposition of real and virtual as well as an interesting statement about time, time past, present, and future simultaneously.
